Preparation Instructions
All Fuel Your Feat meals are pre-cooked and ready to go, all that's required is some added water! Meals can be made with hot or cold water, but whichever one you choose will effect how long the meals take to rehydrate. In addition, your elevation plays a role in rehydration times.
Elevation
The individual preparation time varies with each bag. It is based on an elevation of near sea level - from our home on Vancouver Island. The higher you get, the longer rehydration will take. The general rule of thumb is to add about a minute of soak time for every 300 meters (1000 feet) above 1500 meters (5000 feet).
Hot or Cold?
Freeze dried meals can be rehydrated with hot or cold water, but cold takes a lot longer. Meals prepared in hot water typically take 10-15 minutes to rehydrate while giving you that home-cooked meal experience. Meals prepared in cold water can take anywhere from half an hour to several hour to properly rehydrate. This gives you the morning after cold pizza experience!
